Case Study: How One Medical Device Company Used the Power of Agile Teamwork to Meet a Key Milestone

Medical device companies face many tight controls and strict requirements. That makes meeting key deadlines difficult when R&D teams are juggling many moving pieces. Bessel founder Chris Danek worked with one medical device company to overcome these challenges and meet key milestones on deadline.

The challenge

A medical device company offering cryotherapy devices needed help moving its manufacturing process from in-house to a contract manufacturer. The team was under enormous time pressure.

The solution

Chris Danek brought medical device expertise and an agile approach to the challenge. He introduced a Scrum methodology to track the large-scale, multi-faceted project.

The results

The new approach brought visibility and accountability to the team’s work. Everyone on the team could see what needed to be done and what had already been implemented. Chris fully involved the contract manufacturer in the team’s agile approach. The manufacturing transfer was tremendously successful. The company completed its goals on time and achieved a significant milestone payment.

“Chris can quickly fit into an organization and add measurable value in a short amount of time. He makes a major impact and leaves lasting value, all with zero ego.”

The project lead expressed his gratitude for Chris’ guidance: “Chris was a phenomenal sounding board for me. He gave me the right perspective. What’s really different about Chris compared with other consultants is that he doesn’t have a rigid model we had to adopt. Instead, he asked good questions and identified opportunities for us to be more effective without starting over. He has a gift of presenting ideas in a way that people will be open to embracing changes.”

And he shared a hearty recommendation for future Bessel clients: “Chris can quickly fit into an organization and add measurable value in a short amount of time. He makes a major impact and leaves lasting value, all with zero ego.”
