Recently, Bessel worked with a medical device development firm to overcome an additive manufacturing challenge where speed and quality were the primary concerns.

A Complex Challenge

Sirius Engineering is a medical device development firm based in the heart of Silicon Valley. The Sirius team needed sets of two intricate parts, complete with fine threads, for a critical catheter build. The complexity of the part design challenged the capability of standard desktop resin 3D printers. Bessel turned to our partner, the W.M. Keck Center for 3D Innovation at the University of Texas at El Paso, renowned for its state-of-the-art industrial additive manufacturing systems.

Bessel’s Solution

Bessel's Research and Development Engineer, Andres Gutierrez, played a pivotal role in the project. His expertise, combined with the cutting-edge technology provided by the Keck Center yielded prototype parts with precision, surface quality, and rapid turnaround. "It was great to fabricate the parts with the fine threads usable 'as printed' on such a fast turnaround," he says. This achievement underscored Bessel's dedication to serving our customers with above-and-beyond effort and results.
